21days: Sigur Rós

To begin with Ii want to remind you all that now there are only three weeks until I will become a citizen of Great Britain,...

I went to see the brilliant, superb, extraordinary band Sigur Rós in Laugardalshöll last sunday, wow! It was brilliand, and so relaxing, I almost fell asleep (which in this case is a compliment), they were like nothing else!

Earlier that day I was twice in the audience in an icelandic TV-show called "Það Var Lagið", getting pretty famous here you now!

24 days: Dishwashing mashine

Today the dishwash mashine in Kringlan died, quite early today and we had to wash the dishes by hand which is unpossible in a small café in a big mall, no way, so we had to begin serving drinks in plastic mugs, some costumers didn´t like it but mostly it was fine, we just tried to smile nicely.

Anyway, would you come to my farewell party if it would be next weekend?? I know it is early but I don´t know how it would go later in december,...

29 days: "Vinur vina minna"

This is an icelandic saying , which means "my friends´ friend". This is used whe people are asked about their personality in interviews. Of course everyone is their friends´ friend, that is what the word "friend" means, right?

I hate that answer, it´s like trying to hide ones personality, or just trying to be the good guy or the cute girl!! Say something interesting instead, something funny,...

Well this is just my opinion, don´t be mad at me if you say that frase all the time.

30 days: Good friends

The great sissy that I am, well I am a weak personality at least, I am truly thankful for having friends that are stong personalities and are willing to help me arguing my way out of troubles I have had for more than a year about the apartment I rented,...

Thank you all that are helping me and have supported me all my life.

My goal about getting a little famous was not that hard to score!

36 days: Arrgh

The apartment I recently moved out from is as so many know extremly disgusting. Well that is for sure, but the guy that owns it wants me to hire guys to clean the disgusting disgustingly old carpet on the floor.

One of my friends say that the apartment is unliveable and that if I would sent the healt department there then the whole floor would have to be ripped up and a new one put instead. I don´t want to do that though because I have not that much against the guy,... but I don´t want to pay the cleaning either!

I have some tricks left in my sleave, and hope they will work, I think he let me pay the electricity twice, and am going to check that out tomorrow,...

more about this tomorrow,...

Signature/Autograph

Have you noticed how ugly and badly made icelanders´ signatures are? When I worked in the petrol station here, I noticed when foreigners came that they had mede some effort in designing their signature, they could proudly sign and walk out with their heads high. Icelanders on the other side can not do that, very often they just make a random move with the wrist and go away,... and think it´s funny how they made me ask for a signarture and they didn´t obey my order, HAHA!

When I lived in the ballerina-leg shaped country Sweden my signature was pretty much OK but since I moved here my signature has been quite ugly, haven´t yet had time or interest to make my beautiful icelandic letter Þ beautiful enough and fit the rest of my name. Strange how I became an icelander so quickly that I didn´t even have time to make an acceptable signature!!

That is going to be my goal now, to find a cool signature in time for my next move,... 38 days from now.

38 days: Up north in the Nowhereland

Friday at work went quite well, had been better to have one more barista, but if you never feel the challenge you never appreciate it when things go very smoothly, because that just seems ordinary, also if you never get ill you don´t appreciate the time you are healthy.

Greta, my father´s partner in life, came to Kringlan just after 5pm to pick me up for the journey to the small village I spoke of yesterday. The journey took longer than usual, we had to queue our way out of Reykjavik. Even though the great capital has been under the surgeons knife for so long, has had it´s roads and streets fixed.

When we finally where out of the city we sped up, but not for too long because up on the mountain a snow storme caught us and the car begun to slow down, it took long long to reach the top and we had to drive with the emergency lights turned on. Greta told me that this has happened twice before, it happens when the snow blows up under the car, the car becomes a snail and has to crawl it´s way forward. We finally got up on the top and the car stopped and refused to start again. Good thoug that it happened on the top. We waited and waited and then Greta tried to start it again and it started and we were able to get down from the mountain. Praise the lord some would say, but not me I just thank the car and the fact that Greta is a great driver. We finally got to my former home, the time: 10.30pm. The journey that usually should have taken three and a half hour took more than five.

Now I am sitting in the kitchen in front of my dad´s Apple PowerBook and am going out to buy a Coke to have with the dinner. See you tomorow my friends,...

39 days: Little Christmas

My darling Gregor went to Shetland Islands this week to celebrate christmas with his mum, since he is going to celebrate the real one with my mum in Sweden.

That's a great idea I thought and am going for the weekend to my dad's little village up in the north, to pay him a christmas visit. This will put excitement to my blog challenge because I don't know if I will be able to blog at all.

I have allready begun writing about my least favourite subject so I can as well continue,... Kaffitár put up christmas decoration last night, big, red socks and snow-flakes, and the first yule lad doesn't even arrive until a month from now!!

If I fail on the blog challenge I of course have to write about skii-lifts, and if I fail again I have to find a new funny subject. Just wanted to say that,...

Phoneloose

This weekend I went to a play at the theatre with Kaffitár, we went to see Halldór í Hollywood.

The play is about the nobel-price winner Halldór Laxness when he moved to Hollywood to become famous. I loved most of the actors and how it was directed, most of all I liked the special effects, how the director used few things to show what was happening. She used a small toy train to show how Halldór travelled in America, and she used Halldór having dialogs with his garandmother as his thoughts to himself,...

I didn´t find the story itself very interesting, but the director´s tactics held me interested throughout the play.

After the play we,... me, Héðinn, Dússý, Kolbrún and Jan went out partying, unfortunately Héðinn isin´t old enough so he wasn´t allowed to the bars and had to go home. But the rest of us went to have a beer or two and we ended up dancing our asses of with Lilja and Andri at Bar 22, where someone must have borrowed my phone without letting me know because i haven´t seen it since, borrowed one from dofri though and have the same phonenumber as before. except my dear friends I don´t have yours,... so I would be very glad to recieve a mail or sms with phonenumbers :) Just so I can invite you to my farewell party!

Now only 41 days to the big move!
