It´s hard to decide what to bring when you are moving between countries. I am only going to bring what I think is necessary, but what is necessary??
I am finally going to throw away clothes that I adore which have holes in them, and give away clothes I love that I never use, sell my desk, homephone, video and DVD, give Baldur Galdur, my loyal husband, to someone that will love him more than I did, give my damaged cups from Kaffitár to Kolbrún, does anyone need a fridge? or a pirate hat? or towels? or kitchen things?...
Also I have to fix all the things I have left to do here, like pay my computer and owings, cansel my phone and internet, move my address to Hólmavík, say good bye to people,...
I am so excited about moving, seems so big, it will surely become a culture chock, noone will speak icelandic, I have to make new friends, find a job, get a new extremly long phone number,...
But as the gay national anthem goes: I will survive!!

Cambridge and CV

In nine days I am going to visit the man I love the most, mr Sutherland, in Cambridge. He and I are going to make a CV(ferilskrá) for me to use, when I need to find myself a job in the UK and as well if I am going back to school some time in the future.
I will put pictures of my sushi and my coffee in my CV, isn´t that a good idea??

Children
Evidently there are some nursery (leikskólar) schools in Norway who are trying to start selling frosen ready dinner to busy parents, so that the children of busy parents get healthy food away from the nursery school. There are so many parents who just make pasta or sandwiches or order fast food. This is a brilliant idea and I hope schools everywhere will soon have this available.
Another thing I think is quite interesting is the fact that if you sing for your child when it is ill it recovers faster, and calm music works too, not as good thogh I am sure since the voice of the parent gives the child a feeling of safety and calmness, so,... sing parents, sing!!
Maybe some of you realize that I read the magazine Vikan at work,... hehe!

Homo Homosexualis Movalot Islandus
You guys (blushes), I will miss you too, but really, it is in my blood to move long distances when in love...
My mum moved to Hofsós from Reykjavik, my dad moved to Denmark from Iceland, my sisters to Mora from Norrköping and so on, I am not Homo Sapiens really,... I am Homo Homosexualis Movalot Islandus, and a strange version of that funny species. We come from the relatively new little island Surtsey which rose from the sea just south of Iceland in 1963, we are very few only about a dozen or so and it is hatd to find us since we,... well, move a lot.
Love most of you... ;)

Farewell Land of Ice and Fire
I have finally done it, I have bought the one way ticket to UK, I will move to my beloved Gregor on the 20th of December. I find it scary, exciting, fun, crasy,... I don´t know what to think really, I thought I would never move from Iceland, but Iceland was maybe Utopia for me while I lived in Sweden because Iceland was summer holliday for me, it was over there ful of joy and happiness. Now I realize that Iceland isn´t perfect though better than most places, so Cambridge will be just fine...
