Knifes And Shoes
I got an interview in a shoe store in Kringlan and am going to see the manager tomorrow. Hope the will have me and pay me loads of money.
Today I also saw a fight in bright daylight, we were inside Kaffitár in Bankó and suddenly heard some yelling. Outside was a guy arguing with a guy inside a car and suddenly the car opened and the guy inside jumped out with a knife ca. 20 cm long or 8". Where is Reykjavík heading?

Prikið

I will miss Prikið the bar very much when I move away next time, I am here all the time. Mostly with my coworkers but also alone and with random friends. The Kaffitárers are even becoming famous there and known for always sitting at the same table. When you are hung over nothing is better that coming to Prikið and gúff a Sweaty Burger with a large Coke and a slice of lemon. I really recommend this place.

Gay Pride 2007

Hej Allihopa!
Gay Pride this year was fab and fun as always. Loaded with feelings and activities.
I walked like two years ago with the FSS group (the organization
of gay, bi and trans gender students), this year the theme was to show people that we are not just homos we are so much more. Everyone had stickers on them saying things like: brother, computer nerd, farmer, singer, barista,...
I had a VIP pass to the festival which included special offers in Q bar, ticket to the movie Hairspray, parties and things to wear.
My dream pride festival will be the day someone from my closest family will be able to join me in the main festival on the Saturday. Maybe next year someone will be able to enjoy the happiness and the love that surrounds the hill Arnarhóll next to their most loved fag Þrallur,... we'll see!

The Trip
The funniest thing about my trip with Héðinn Er and Anna Sóley to Europe was that we did nothing that tourists do. In other words there is nothing to say, I am gonna try though,...
Friday the 13th of July me and Anna started to pack in the evening, Anna in her packing mood of rage and me trying to stay out of her way. We decided that we had everything at 1am and took a short nap until 4.15 when Héðinn came, picked us up and we drove to the airport.
The pilot was a funny German who spoke a bit like Goldmember and we enjoyed him a lot when he was speaking to the passengers.
We landed in Copenhagen and went straight down town looking for a cheap place to stay (we are Icelanders and don't plan you see). Anna called her parents for information on how to find the superb espresso bar Estate Coffee where we were sure to get information on how to find a nice hostel. The hostels we found in the phone book didn't answer so we decided to visit Anna's family (who were staying in Copenhagen for holliday) until we got an answer. At their place I remembered that I had my Spartacus travel guide with me and looked up Denmark and we decided to give this world a try and called a guesthouse. They goy said he had a 4 persons room available if we could come straight away cause he was on his way to go out in an hour. We jumped up, ran out and took a taxi to the most beautiful and awesome guesthouse I have seen,... and cheap as well. Our room had two double beds, a table for six, a sofa and loads of artwork (one of them a stuffed parrot). Instantly we decided to stay a four nights of our short trip in Copenhagen.
In Copenhagen we met Kolbrún, Þorgerður and Búi who all live there for the summer. Búi me and Héðinn went to the annual Queer Festival which was like nothing else I have ever seen, can't even describe it.
We also saw Cristiania, shops, parks, restaurants, Mcdonalds, loads of bars, sun, monsoon rain, an old fashion photo booth,...
Hamburg was our next destination, as true Icelanders we got to the train 5 minutes before departure, without breakfast and no cafeteria on board, I was starving but my prayers were answered when the train had to board a ferry between Denmark and Germany. We called a hotel from Spartacus and arrived there in the evening. This time we weren't as lucky, the owner of the hotel looked like Riff Raff's (from Rocky Horror) sister. There was a smell of a old ladies perfume there and so many different kinds of locks. We did pretty much the same things in Hamburg as in Copenhagen, but instead of Cristiania there was a red light district. The hookers were so far away from the ones in the movies, they were just regular pretty girls in regular clothes (probably so men could take them to their hotels without being too obvious). Me and Héðinn forbade Anna to stop walking so that no one would try to buy her services (If you have read the previous lines you see that I am not meaning that she looks like a whore).
On the train between Hamburgh and Amsterdam there were some Spanish people sitting near us, Anna understands a little Spanish and they were talking about us all the time, quite funny at the time (you had to be there). We did not stop drinking although we hadn't had a sober night since Iceland. Nope we just kept on.
The hookers in Amsterdam were all indoors behind huge windows in almost no clothes. Anyway we didn't pay much attention to them, we are all for clothes. I bought some nice clothes in American Apparel, really nice. And went to the strangest bars. On the 21st I went to a bookstore and bought the last piece of my bible,... Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows! Such a good book, really recommend it.
Me and Anna Sóley had a flight back to Iceland from Frankfurt so we went ther a day before, slept at a youth hostel and woke up early for a coffee before the flight. We decided to have the coffee at the trainstation, but when we got there we saw there was a train we could take to the airport just a few minutes after coming there so decided to have the coffee at the airport. We went there had our coffee and then went in good time searching for the check-in desk, the guy in the information only found Icelandair on his list so we decided that Iceland Express must be close to that one. Anna called her parents just in case to check it out and we found out Frankfurt has two airports, Frankfurt Main and Frankfurt Hahn. Shit we thought and found out that the bus there would take one hour and 45 minutes and that bus would leave in 30 minutes. We found a taxi and of we went. We arrived at the Frankfurt Hahn 70 minutes later and just ten minutes before our flight but luckily there was a delay so we checked in and sat down for a coke and a laugh. Isn't this just typical us? We are amazed we are allowed to leave our flat.
There you go, finally the story of our relax trip!
