Tinna And Mayo

Yesterday I was in the countryside at my flatmate Niamh's 21st birthday. My niece Tinna also became 12 yesterday so Til Hamingju Tinna. Hope you had a lovely day full of Rock 'n' Roll.

Ten Socks

I have ten socks in front of me and not one comes from the same pair.

How does this happen?

Some Papúa Thoughts

A week ago I remembered, this week I was just in another timezone so I forgot my dad's birthday until 23.42 on the day itself walking home from work. Ain't I just the best. Happy birthday though dad, you are the best.

Sonja Grant brought me some Kaffitár coffee, sitting on my bed having some french press Papúa right now, delicious.

Having too many thoughts in my head at the moment, gotta unload some of them into my pillow before sleep before I explode.

Saw some armed military men on my walk, very special, don't know what they were doing, hmm?

Saint Patrick's Day has just started, might go and see the parade before work tomorrow. The negative side of being a barista is that you usually have to work on holidays since those are the days people want their coffee.

Sometimes being alone is the best and sometimes being alone is so lonely, isn't that the weirdest.

Good night.

New Better House

My new house is so nice. I have my own room, resonably sane flat mates(Marcus and Niamh(pronounced Níf), a garden and even a fridge(the people who visited me and Anna Sóley know that it is a new thing).

I am looking for a new nice job as well,... more news about that later.

Will absolutely go to Copenhagen for the World Barista Championship(WBC).

Gonna try cooking for the first time in the new house tonight, starting with an easy pasta thingy.

Finished the first book of Artemis Fowl, an alright book, but slightly easy like The Hobbit. All the characters are superduper and no really hard obstacles stand in their way. Well it's a children's book so not that bad actually. Harry Potter is still way above it.

Going back to my glass of red wine now.

Mwah!

The Number 13

Just home from London, was great fun!

On Friday night I met up with Scott and Paul and we checked in at Dublin Airport. We noticed that we got the seat number 13. I thought they never had that row on planes. They used not to have buses number 13 either and in many places they skip the house number 13 in streets. We got there safely, actually it was the flight back that was the scary one.

Friday night we went to our hostel on Earls Court, booked a four persons dorm and hoped we wouldn't have a room mate. But we found out that a creepy guy had been living there for some weeks. We stayed in the room with the creepy guy just long enough to powder our noses and then headed out to Soho and danced until the morning with Haffi(Kaffi) and Arna(a friend of ours that was visiting Haffi over the weekend from Iceland)

The Saturday arrived and those over 26 had of course fierce hangovers so we had a slow start. I went later to try on my dream shoes, they didn't have the model I wanted but I tried on a similar one and I will buy my one later online I think.

In the evening we had pizza in Pizza Hut and decided to see a movie. We accidentally got tickets on another movie, saw the mistake when already inside and decided to see it anyway. I don't regret it and really recommend the movie "The Other Boleyn Girl" a movie about Queen Elisabeth I's mother Anne Boleyn and aunt Mary Boleyn.

That night we went to a local bar/night club/mini-Sólon. It's all about who you go with I guess since I enjoyed it.

"Today" (actually yesterday since I got distracted on Wikipedia and IMDb) we went to Tate Modern which is a cool art museum and then to the Natural History Museum where I saw some real dinosaur skeletons and lots of other cool things.

All in all it was a really nice trip where i only forgot/lost one thing that I got again in the restaurant I forgot it in fifteen minutes later(I can't tell you that it was my wallet because my mum might read this). I must have a nice guardian ghost since my forgotten things are always safe until I find them again(my passport, my ticket, my man's bag, my computer(not entirely my fault) and now my wallet)

Home now and sleepy, gonna meet Sonja Grant for a coffee, she was judging the Irish Barista Championship this weekend and I think they chose the right one, Stephen Morrisey a good guy and a great barista I've heard. Congrats!

Money In London

I finally got paid from work today.

It has been a long journey to get Proof of Address (I had to "live" at my friends place to get it, since my landlord is a Helvítis Háfviti who isn't declaring his stuff or something) and then of course the PPS Number (don't know what PPS stands for(basically but still not a Kennitala)). Without Proof of Address you can't get a PPS Number and without a PPS Number you can't get paid.

So I got two months salary today. Quite happy about that.

It's All Gone Tits Up

Mum just sent me this beautiful scarf from Sweden. Was actually thinking yesterday of buying a scarf this weekend in London. I guess mums think of everything before you do yourself.
