how interesting and eventful life is nowadays?
There are so many meaningful and meaningless things happening in the world, my life, in my body and in my head these days.
First of all is this big baggage on us all that we call the Recession. Although I try to live life as it hasn't affected me at all, I have so many things to thank the recession for.
For instance the first thing I saw positive was that people got fired from jobs that they were doing badly and often new and better employees took over. This however is sadly not a rule as many good people lost their jobs as well.
Another good consequence of the Recession is my decision to go to university. I am currently taking student loans and studying geography at the University of Iceland. I am in an awesome class full of interesting and interested students of all ages. We all help each other and cry together over hard physics problems. The negative side of this part of my life is that there are so many students at the Uni now that it is hard for the lecturers to give each student as much time as they usually would.
We cook more at home after the banks fell. Instead of going to McD or Domino's Pizza I eat loads of homemade lasagna, noodle dishes, pizzas and all kinds of other stuff. I buy less clothes and books though.
Early in this blog I was talking about my life, my body and my mind.
My life has turned a lot since I came back to lovely, lonely Iceland. I say lonely but I also mean the opposite at the same time. I have less love life. At first this was extremely hard. Now I am a bit afraid of meeting new people to date. I seem to be more shy and afraid of being hurt. At the same time I am more confident in the non-love-life.
I talk to myself and tell me the truth everyday. -
Þrallur you are so awesome that one half of it would be heaps and bundles! The fact is that instead of working on my flaws i have accepted them as characteristics of Þrallur. I don't mind my weird posture anymore, I am happy with my mouse-gray hair color, I embrace my forgetfulness and try to smile a little when I dry the person I spilled my drink over.
I am a proud dull-colored, crooked, clumsy, forgetful, fed-up-with-love-yet-love-seeking Icelander with a
beautinice beard!
Oh, I am almost forgetting the COFFEE part of my life. I am loving it as usually. I competed at the Iceland Barista Championship two weeks back and as usually I wasn't prepaired enough and made a fool of myself. I am not gonna let that push me down though cause I make awesome coffee and no trophy will prove that to me (although it would look awesome with my name on it).
Me and some friends are going to the World Championship in London this summer. Oh lords of Asgard! I cannot wait.
My grandfather on mum's side passed away on new years eve. This event resulted in many deleted FaceBook friendships, lawsuits, arguments and family splitting. Thankfully both him and gran were cremated cause otherwise they would have
turned spun like a pair of tornados in their grave. This is nothing I am going to deeply into on my blog, it will come in my autobiography in the future.
This is only a small part of my status update. I am way too tired to talk to you more this evening so I bid you all good night.
